Steve Jeck

Steve Jeck has long been interested in strength and athletic competition. After winning the Florida High School State Championship in the Shot Put & Discus, Steve attended Appalachian State University, where he competed on the Track Team. While in college Steve was a five-time Southern Conference Champion (85 - 87) in the Shot Put & Hammer Throw. Following graduation Steve competed in various Scottish Highland Games along the East Coast, winning thirteen individual championships.

Believing in a strong mind as well as a sound body, Steve has been a teacher in the public school system for over ten years. In 1997, he was selected as Teacher of the Year, Hill Middle School(Winston-Salem, NC).

Steve has also published numerous articles in the international strength journal, MILO, and co-authored with Peter Martin, Of Stones and Strength, a book about the culture and history of stone lifting.
